Not just green in place, but green in everything we do. Surrey’s ambition is to lead the UK toward net-zero. Home to WWF-UK’s headquarters Surrey has pledged £50m in green bus transport, committed to planting 1.2 million trees – one for every Surrey resident, and has one of the best recycling rates in England.

Surrey works with business and the community to achieve a collective response together to put the region on the path to net zero carbon emissions and a stronger climate resilience.

We’re proud that The Surrey Hills was one of the first landscapes in the country to be designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) in 1958 and we work to ensure a green Surrey for future generations.
